Accounting
What does the administration service include?
We keep and manage your complete financial administration: from processing invoices, receipts and bank transactions to interim reports, the annual accounts and the filing documents for the Chamber of Commerce.
Can I transfer my existing bookkeeping to you?
Yes, we guide a careful transfer of your existing administration. We contact your current bookkeeper and ensure the transition runs smoothly without any data loss.
Which accounting software do you use?
Yes. For bookkeeping we work with AFAS Software, Visma eAccounting Pro, SnelStart Polaris and e-Boekhouden, among others. Reports and annual accounts are prepared in Caseware and Speedbooks, tax returns in Nextens and Fiscaal-online, and payroll in Nmbrs and Loon. We match the choice to your business.
How often will I receive financial reports?
We tailor the frequency to your needs. As standard, we provide quarterly reports, but monthly reporting is also possible. This way, you always have up-to-date insight into your financial position.
What is an annual account and why do I need one?
An annual account is an overview of your company's financial position over the past fiscal year. It is legally required for BVs and NVs, and is also requested by banks and investors.
Do you also handle payroll administration?
Yes, we handle the full payroll administration including processing pay slips, remitting payroll taxes to the Tax Authority and preparing annual statements.
What is the difference between an accounting firm and a registered accountant?
An accounting firm keeps the administration, prepares the annual accounts and handles tax returns and advice. In the Netherlands the title accountant (RA or AA) is protected by law; only a registered accountant may issue an audit or compilation report. JOUHAR EXPERTISE BUREAU is an accounting and advisory firm. If a statutory audit is required for your company, we discuss with you which registered accountant can perform it.
Can I submit my administration entirely digitally?
Absolutely. We work fully digitally and you can easily scan or photograph receipts, invoices and other documents and send them to us. This saves time and keeps your administration always accessible.
Tax
When do I need to file my tax return?
The income tax return must be filed annually before 1 May. Corporate tax has a deadline of 5 months after the financial year. We keep track of all deadlines and ensure timely filing.
Can you help with correspondence from the Tax Authority?
Absolutely. We analyse the correspondence, advise you on the content and, if necessary, handle the response on your behalf. During tax audits, we support you from preparation to completion.
Do you also handle VAT returns?
Yes, we handle your periodic VAT returns (monthly, quarterly or annually), supplementary returns and advise on the correct VAT treatment of your domestic and cross-border transactions.
Which expenses can I deduct as an entrepreneur?
As an entrepreneur, you can deduct business expenses such as rent, inventory, transport, insurance and marketing costs. We advise you on which costs are deductible and how to optimise your tax position.
What is a provisional assessment?
A provisional assessment is an estimate by the Tax Authority of your tax due. We can submit a request for modification so the assessment better reflects your actual situation.
What happens if I file my tax return late?
Late filing can result in a fine from the Tax Authority. This can range from EUR 385 for the first offence to significantly higher amounts for repeated violations. We ensure you are always on time.
What is the difference between income tax and corporate tax?
Income tax applies to individuals and sole proprietorships, while corporate tax applies to legal entities such as BVs. The rates and rules differ. We advise you on which structure is most tax-efficient.
Is tax optimisation legal?
Yes, within the boundaries of the law, it is entirely legal to optimise your tax burden. We always look for legitimate ways to improve your tax position, such as utilising available deductions and tax facilities.

This depends on your turnover, risk profile and future plans. Generally, a BV becomes fiscally interesting from approximately EUR 100,000 profit. We calculate your specific situation and advise on the best structure.

For which types of financing can you mediate?
We mediate for business credits, corporate loans, mortgage financing for business premises, leasing, factoring and other financing forms that suit your situation.
What does financial intermediation cost?
Our intermediation fees are discussed with you in advance and are always transparent. In some cases, we receive a fee from the financial institution, resulting in no or lower costs for you.
Which documents do I need for a financing application?
Typically, we require your annual accounts for the past three years, recent interim figures, a forecast, your business plan and an overview of existing financing. We help you compile the dossier.
How long does a financing application take?
The processing time varies by type of financing and provider. On average, the process takes four to eight weeks. We ensure a complete dossier to keep the processing time as short as possible.
Can you also help with refinancing?
Yes, we analyse your current financing structure and investigate whether refinancing could be more advantageous. This can result in lower interest costs, better conditions or more financial room.

Do you provide sworn translations?
We provide professional translations suitable for official use. If your document requires a sworn translation, we discuss with you in advance which route is needed and what costs and turnaround time are involved.
How are translation costs calculated?
Costs are calculated based on the number of words, the language combination and the complexity of the text. You always receive a no-obligation quotation in advance so you know exactly what to expect.
